Waterproof lined Mason Jar Covers ~ Excellent Saran Wrap Replacement ~ Perfect for your sourdough starter!

Brand new to my reusable / sustainable living line up!! Reusable bowl covers available in a variety of sizes ~ this listing is for my jar / XSmall sized cover. I use this size daily to cover my active sourdough starter on the counter (I personally use the waterproof lined option for this purpose). This size would also be nice to cover a half avocado or grapefruit to be stored in the fridge without drying out.

These come in two options, depending on your use needs. Both options have a 100% cotton fabric top (exact print will be reflected in the photo) and elastic closure.

The first option comes lined with a natural, unbleached cotton lining. ** This will not be the airtight nor waterproof option ** This is what I use for all of my countertop ferments - yogurt, kefir, kombucha, etc... This would also be the option for covering anything in a "cover with a towel" situation - maybe where your dough needs to sit, but not be airtight. Or over a kitchenaid or stand mixer bowl. Or if you were lucky enough to be somewhere warm ( AK is NOT warm right now ) where you are placing food outside but need to keep the outside off your food.

The second option is lined with the same lining I use for my snack + sandwich bags ~ ProCare is manufactured in the USA and Canada with excellent health and food safety standards. ProCare is a CPSIA Certified Food Safe Durable Waterproof Eco-Friendly Fabric that releases no VOCs.
This lining is FREE from :

* Lead + heavy metals
* Phthalates
* BPA
* Brominates

and is tested for contact with foods. It is soft, durable, waterproof and widely used in the Food and Medical industries. I am quite anti plastic and am comfortable using this for myself and kiddos.

This option WILL keep your food as fresh as if it were stored under a lid or under plastic wrap. This film is food safe and is designed for repeated use in packaging, processing, transporting or holding food. In fact, it's so safe, it is even approved for holding potable water! The most important characteristic of this type of fabric is that it forms a waterproof barrier, while still being breathable, which means that the fabric releases heat and water vapor which is perfect for food storage. These bowl covers (and my reusable snack bags) are very easy maintenance, just machine wash and dry.

These covers can be used for all sorts of food storage, round or not. And it doesn't even have to be food in a container! You can pop these over the top of half a grapefruit, or even half a melon! Great for proofing bread dough, or any recipe wanting you to cover your mixture with plastic saran wrap while resting.

** Sizing information ~ the regular sized jar covers (the ones NOT labeled as gallon or gal.) will fit most jars as shown in the mason jar family photo. That's the same size cover on jars from 8 oz half pints up to 64 oz half gallon jars. If going to larger mouthed jars, I suggest jumping up to the gallon size covers **
